"Was I just jealous, bitter and cold? The sins i committed, the lies that I told. Had no respect for you, Only myself. A memeory I'm not so fond of as well, and I can honestly say I was wrong; so can you forgive me so I can move on"

"So different, so different than you. So different than you are. I know it's sad but true. So different, I'm no different than you."

Sam hadn’t come back by morning, and Dean was feeling like an idiot for letting Cas make him think any different.

The way he just seemed to know what he wanted thought, damn, it was hard to say no to it; almost impossible. It was unnerving, but so damn addicting at the same time. It felt good to not have to worry, about anything really, just let loose. He didn’t have to worry about hurting Cas-he seemed to be one kinky angel-, he didn’t have to worry about strings attached-Cas understood he just couldn’t do the love thing, not after all that had happened-, he damn well didn’t have to worry about Cas leaving either; he was always there, when ever he needed him.

Dean licked his lips and finished getting his things ready, while Cas watched him, waiting for Dean to finish. He was good at that, just standing there and watching, examining everything Dean did. He didn’t feel bothered by it though, it didn’t upset him like it normally did, and it actually brought a smile to his face. He had someone who knew him, someone other then Sam who could tell his moods and help him when he needed help.

Dean threw the duffle bag over his shoulder and walked towards the door, juggling the contents of his pockets for the keys to both the impala and the hotel, found them, and walked out. He locked the door behind him, moving towards his baby, opening the driver’s seat, while Cas appeared in the passenger’s side. He was getting used to Cas’ appearing and disappearing. It was becoming regular routine, and didn’t bug him, or startle him, as much anymore.

“Where do you think he could have gone?” Cas inquired.

Cas was worried too, he knew Sam meant a lot to Dean, and he was fairly sure the angel had become attached, if only in a friendly or brotherly way, with Sam.

“I just hope he didn’t go hunting for Lucifer.” Dean sighed. “I know he promised the kid he wouldn’t, but he’s not exactly the most rational person. He has been acting weird lately too.”

“I do not think he’d say yes to Lucifer.” Cas commented. “He seemed pretty indubitable on not.”

Dean rubbed his face with his hands before putting the keys into the ignition, turning on the impala, and setting out on the road.

He pulled out his cell phone, dialling Sam’s number once more. The ringing taunted him and he resisted the urge to throw it out the window. He closed it once the voicemail reached his ears and cursed, loudly and colourfully. Cas frowned at this, but didn’t reach out a hand to comfort, Dean thanked the angel for that, even though he didn’t do it out loud. He needed to vent his anger or he was going to pop; like an over inflated tier.

“We could always ask Gabriel for help.” Cas offered.

“Why the hell would that douche want to find Sam, he’d be the one behind before he’d be apart of the search party.” Dean snapped.

“It was just an idea.”

Dean sighed.

“I’m sorry Cas, it just feels like Ruby all over again. Him disappearing all the time then runs off not telling us where he is.”

Cas nodded.

“I understand.”

Dean nodded and concentrated on the road once more, feeling a little bit guilty, and a whole lost of self hatred; why couldn’t he be good to Cas? Not that he wanted to be all googly-eyed-teenager-angst or anything, but some part of him wanted to accept a relationship. It was the side of him that still believed he had a chance, but that part was slowly dying; every day.

“Hey Cas…”

“Yes Dean.”

“Thanks.”

“For what?”

            “Everything…”

It's probably best that they don't go to Gabriel just yet... But embarrassment is over... or is it? I guess I'll find out in the next chapter, huh?
Also,
googly-eyed-teenager-angst
killed me. LOLed so hard. *grin*
