Things like this were not supposed to happen to angels; especially not archangels. Maybe angels dwindled on Grace so low they were practically human, but not freshly baked archangels not to him. He couldn’t wrap his head around it, and couldn’t free his Grace from the binds of darkness that smothered and repelled it till it was so deep inside his vessel even he couldn’t feel it’s warmth no more.
Worst of all, he could feel and see everything, even if he couldn’t pull to the surface and reclaim his body. It was troublesome, and it made him angry, he was in the middle of a civil war, he didn’t have time to deal with this, there were people that needed him; depended on him. But no matter how much he struggled he couldn’t push past the ice water that was suffocating him.
He was about to try once again when he saw the door open and part of him wondered if it was Dean, or Sam. With the amount of demonic activity going on, they must have known something was wrong…instead Balthazar walked in. He could feel his Grace swell a little, push against the bonds as it tried to reach out to the other angels, to seek comfort and reassurance.
Then his eyes shifted black, a smirk on his face.
Oh...
He shivered, quivered in his vessel and could hear the demon laugh with his voice, twisting it, making it sound something foreign, unlike the gravely tone that was his own.
“How nice of you to join me, lover,” the demon cooed and Cas tried to release his grip on consciousness, let himself slip into the darker waters, but a grip held him there. It was like he was there, could feel and see and was aware of everything, he just couldn’t control anything.
“I’m sorry, he was difficult.” The demon inside Balthazar chuckled. “But everything’s ready now.”
Cas felt himself move forward without his will and his hand retched up, grabbing the back of Balthazar’s Vessel’s neck pulling him close and then their lips met.
The kiss was anything but soft, it was a clash of angry, desperate teeth, tearing at his lips, causing blood to flow down the back of his throat, and he felt like he would gag. Instead the demon inside him purred as the pain bloomed into an insistent ache, and pulled Balthazar’s vessel closer, their bodies slotting together perfectly. Cas couldn’t stop his own moan as he remembered what it had been like being with his brother. The way the heat from their Grace sent warmth through him, and his Grace once again tried to reach out.
Castiel…
Cas closed his eyes, reaching out for the voice that called to him, finding the withered, frayed bond and latching onto it. When he opened them again he was somewhere else. He hadn’t left his vessel, but this was a safe place, something that was his and Balthazar’s, someplace they couldn’t be touched, not by the darkness, but Balthazar’s lips were on his and he could still taste the metallic of blood, but it didn’t bother him; not here.
He slid his arms from Balthazar’s shoulders and gripped the flesh between his shoulder blades, relishing the moan that it elicited. This world mirrored what really happening, but once again Castiel didn’t care, he just clung to the warmth, the knowing that he was safe with Balthazar.
“Castiel,” Bal said, shoving him up against the wall, breaking the kiss for a moment, to let their eyes meet before he was kissing him again, lips pressed harshly together, almost a desperate thing, Castiel whimpered, surrendering himself over to his former lover, hand reaching into his vest, up his shirt to feel the warm flesh underneath as he gasped, Bal’s kisses moving to his jaw, smearing their blood across his cheeks and chin, hand reaching up to cup his face almost tenderly.
He knew this was dangerous, that what they were doing would have consequences, but he didn’t care, he just closed his eyes and let himself feel. Cas' own hand reached up to his face, his fingers mixing in blood as Balthazar nipped and sucked at his neck, teeth biting down hard enough to breach skin, draw more blood, more pain and he was shoved harder against the wall.
“I’m sorry.” It was a whisper and Cas let his hand drop down to Balthazar’s neck, smearing more blood as he dragged their lips together once more.
“Don’t be,” Castiel answered and let his tongue slip between Bal’s willing lips and explore, search for his taste among the blood, and once he found it he latched onto it, drowning in it as he moaned, pulling him closer.
Balthazar broke then kiss he grind their clothed erections together and a shock of pleasure shot through his nerves, causing him to whimper and tremble, clinging helplessly onto Balthazar, wanting and needing an craving things he’d never craved before. Balthazar gripped Cas’ chin between his fingers, pulling him in for another kiss, Cas’ hand placed on his jaw. He wanted this, wanted so much more.
“Cas…”
Suddenly he was back, his vessel his own again and he blinked, his eyes fading back to their normal color, Balthazar’s as well as he stared at Dean and Sam who stared at them with wide eyes. Castiel opened his mouth to respond but his Grace suddenly burst froth and wrapped around with the other and he cried out, physically being shoved back by the force. He heard Balthazar groan half in pain half in pleasure.
Castiel’s eyes widened in shock as he realised what had happened and Balthazar looked at him with troubled eyes, before those very eyes looked down at the blood on his hands, Castiel did the same and shivered before looking up to find his brother gone.
The brother he’d unintentionally bonded with.

on 2010-11-18 12:56 pm (UTC)So yesh, I found your fics of the yesterday and I love each and every one of them, despite them being so different. This, this one right here, is making me want to point at my screen and yell at the Winchesers for interrupting but I can't because I'm in my college cafeteria and everyone would look at me funny.
One of the awesome angsty fics I know of. Re-read it though because I caught some things. And I'm not even going to ask about how angels got possessed by demons because I'm in love with the blood play here. You definitely did the art justice with this one hun.
