Sam's trying to heal after his time in hell while trying to help Gabriel who's trying to cope with his brother's betrayal and life without his grace. Chapter Summery: He wasn’t going to push it, but he was worried and he was worried because he was worried and it was a big jumbled mess of emotion’s he’d rather not think about.
Notes: Notes: This is slightly based off a role play me and my friend are doing. The character Karissa is from there and the idea of Anna not attempting to kill them and was all a trick by the angels (they are dickish enough to do this and this is my cannon!) all stems from the rp. This sort of takes place after a short I wrote called ' Watch Them Fall ' But does not need to be read in order to read this. Okiedoke and a shout-out thank-you-so-much-I-love-you to my awesome, incredible Beta [livejournal.com profile] half_vulcan. That seems to be all, enjoy! Master Post HERE

Leaves.

Such a pretty sight in the autumn, when the seasons are changing and the days grow darker, the sun clawing at the edges, fighting to keep hold to keep in control as night takes its rein. A chill, a soft chill, that creeps into you’re bones and buries itself in deep requiring more clothes and modesty becomes necessary. When time itself freezes and you glance at the wonders you forget in the rush of summer or the barren days of winter where you throw yourself inside with the warm fires and family. Autumn is the season of change, of wonders.

How I love autumn.

The roof of the house was faded, the shingles crumbling and digging into their backs as they watched the clouds roll by; puffs of air escaping from her mouth as she talked adamantly about everything. Anna smiled and listened as she rambled on about her day, about how she was finally going to get out of this house, this life, and run away. Anna listened, had listened to her since she’d met the girl, sitting alone on the curb crying It had broken her heart.

“I got a job, nothing big, just working as a waitress in one of those diners. People there are nice, always tipping me.” She smiled and waved her hand around, her fingertips pink with the chill. She wore a ratty old purple jacket and ripped blue jeans but never complained. “I hide it of course, but I don’t mind. He thinks I’m hanging with my friends- like I have any. Besides you of course, you’re my only friend.”

It was sad really, she was such a wonderful person with a beautiful personality but she was shy. She didn’t trust people, anyone. He had taught her that. Anna wanted to take her away, take her away from the pain and the heartache but she insisted on doing this herself, she only asked that Anna would come back, everyday. Everyday they’d sit up on the roof and watch clouds or talk and Anna would listen, tell her things she’d never told anyone and wait. Wait till she asked for help or for them to need her.

“Oh really?” Anna asked and turned to the girl who beamed at her; her long wavy brown hair falling down past her shoulders, almost to the small of her back, her grey eyes piercing. “I’m proud of you.”

“I’m doing it; thanks to you I actually have the drive.” She turned back to look up at the sky with a smile. “I was falling until you came.”

“Mm, you weren’t falling, not really.” Anna turns to look at the sky as well; she knows all about falling. “Running from yourself maybe, but not falling.”

“Thank you for stopping me.”

“Always.”

She puffed out a laugh and sat up, turning to lean on her hands, her hair falling across her cheeks and landing on top of Anna’s.

“I want t-“

“KARISSA!”

They both flinched and Karissa sighed, looking down at her hands before rolling over to stand up. Anna sat up and caught her wrist, making Kari turn her head to meet Anna’s sad eyes with her own.

“You don’t have to go.”

“KARISSA LYNN DEMORE!”

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” Karissa leaned in to kiss Anna on the cheek, like she was the one who needed comforting before disappearing in through the window, leaving Anna sitting there watching her departure. Back at the salvage yard, sitting atop one of the old run-down cars she was fighting back feelings that threatened to overpower her. She could feel them coming with the first shudders of her shoulders, until the world blurred. She cried.

~*~*~*~

Crowley was sprawled out on the old couch – he had given it a bath because he wasn’t sitting on an old dirty couch with his Armani suits – flipping through one of the many books the old Hunter had. The old Hunter in question was making himself dinner, and possibly Crowley would be able to steal something, but thinking back on his cooking decided it didn’t meet his taste. It had been a few months since he’d started staying here full time. Out of house and home he had no place to stay and since he’d helped save the world, Bobby had agreed to let him stay. It had been them alone for a month and everything was working out.

Crowley worked the stocks, helped out with bigger cases that involved help Bobby couldn’t ask from the Winchesters – one in hell the other missing – cooked food four out of seven nights and did his own laundry. Actually dry cleaners did his laundry but he didn’t tell Bobby that. He had stolen a few kisses from the bashful Hunter, but had never gotten any further than that. It was even good when Anna joined them. They found her on a hunt and it turned out she had been framed - which fit the Angels to a tee - when she had found out plans. Anyone working against the Angels was good enough for them and the invited her to stick around.

Anna disappeared around the same time everyday and neither of them asked where she went; though whenever she returned she seemed upset and would keep to herself until one of them coaxed her out of shell. Neither of them asked what she was doing though, they figured it was private and they just waited for her to tell them. Bobby had changed Crowley a bit; actually, having Bobby’s soul changed him. He understood the meanings of emotions he hadn’t in a long time.

“What ya’ thinkin’ about idjit?”

Crowley turned to see Bobby walking back in, dressed like a trucker and Crowley itched to get his hands on his wardrobe and burn it. Bobby had a sandwich in his hand. Taking a seat behind the desk, old tombs cracked open on his newest hunt which was taking place close enough to home that he didn’t need to leave.

“Just how I need to get you to dress better; then again, with all you’re fighting you’d probably destroy new clothes every chance you had.” Crowley didn’t look up from his book but he could feel Bobby rolling his eyes.

“Hello Bobby.” Came a female voice from the door as Anna walked in, her eyes red from crying. Bobby turned to look at her.

“You alright?”

“Of course.”

Liar thought Crowley before shaking his head and putting his book down. He wasn’t going to push it, but he was worried and he was worried because he was worried and it was a big jumbled mess of emotion’s he’d rather not think about. The Angel had grown on him and so had Bobby and it was all against his better nature and who he was and the fact he did care was enough for him to be reaching for the demon-killing knife. He blamed this all on Bobby and he’d tell him so next time he was in a pissy mood.

The phone rang and broke Crowley from his thoughts. Bobby reached for it.

Bobby?”

They all froze because he was pretty sure Anna was using her Angel-listening skills as he was using his demon ones.

“Sam…”

Yeah, it’s me.

“…”

I clawed my way out of hell after twenty years of listening to Michael and Lucifer go at it like rabbits.

“I do believe that’s Sam, only he’d know such things.” Came a voice from the left and they all turned – Bobby had jumped - to see Castiel, brilliant blue eyes locked onto Anna. “I heard what they did.” Anna nodded slowly before crossing her arms.

“Where are you?”

Outside Lisa’s place.

“What are you doing there ya’ idjit.”

It’s were Dean is, but I think I’m heading to your place.

“Dean with you?”

No.

“Why not?”

He’s happy Bobby, I don’t want to ruin it for him.

“You go get your brother Sam Winchester!”

But Bo-

“No buts, you know as well as I do he’s miserable. He’s not meant to live that kind of life. Now you go get him and you lot come back here, your damn Angel’s on his way.”

Cas?”

“No, Lucifer. Yes Castiel.”

He’s there?”

“Yes, now go get you’re brother!” and with that Bobby hung up and turned towards the startled male Angel who was looking at Bobby like he was going to eat him. “And you. You go get those boys; make sure they make it here safe and sound.”

Castiel nodded and disappeared with a stunned look on his face. Anna let her arms loosen up a bit and she sighed.

“Did you know how sexy you look when you get all commanding?” Crowley raised an eyebrow and watched Bobby splutter before turning back to his dinner, mumbling under his breath. Anna cracked a small smile and shook her head.

“They aren’t going to like us being here.”

Crowley shrugged and turned to look at Bobby. “They get to deal with him. I’m sure we’ll be fine.”

Dean was sitting in his baby and staring at Cas in the passenger seat and Sam in the back looking at his hands like he’d stuck them in the cookie jar and found body parts instead of cookies. Dean was told it was because he’d felt guilty he’d taken Dean out of the life he was living. He didn’t mind, he loved Lisa but he missed this life, missed Sam and he missed Cas. He missed fighting and missed kicking ass. He wasn’t made for the white-picket-fence life. He grabbed an old coffee cup and tossed it at Sam’s head, which whipped up with a bitch-face plastered on it.

“Thanks, for rescuing me man. It was boring, really dude, thanks. Glad to see you’re alive and kicking and stuff…” he trailed off when he realised he was treading into chick-flick territory and cleared his throat awkwardly, focusing completely on driving as he turned up the volume on the Led Zeppelin song.

It took exactly two hours and three bitch-fits for Dean to accept Bobby and Crowley – Sam had settled down a bit earlier – but Dean still didn’t trust Crowley and had stormed up to his and Sam’s room. No one had followed, though he had seen Cas’ eyes follow him the whole time. Dean had thrown some stuff around and kicked a few walls and or bed frames, and he knew he was being childish but fuck didn’t they already go through this with Ruby? You’d think they would have learned by now.

Sure the sneaky son of a bitch had helped them save the world, but that could have been so he could take it over. It could happen and they all knew it but they’d rather all believe his fucking sob story and play ignorant. He had expected this from Sam but not from Bobby, fuck Bobby knew better!

“You think loud.”

Dean jumped and spun, knife in hand before he realised it was Cas who was standing in front of the closed door, hands fiddling with the cuffs of his trench coat, his eyes examining the floorboards with earnest.

“So, you’ve got all you’re Angel mojo back; you can listen to my thoughts again?”

“I do not mean too, you were projecting quite loudly, even Anna heard you.”

Dean shifted uncomfortably and rubbed the back of his neck. “Uh, sorry?”

“For what?”

“Bitching where you could hear…”

“It’s alright.” Cas looked up with those intense blue-eyes and Dean smiled.

“I do believe there is pie being made.”

“Pie…” Dean brightens up because yeah, it’s pie; who can resist pie?

It just sucked that Crowley was making the pie.

But man, did it ever taste good.

Wow, don't think I've read something with a Bobby/Crowley pairing yet. You get points for that.

And the rest of it is good too, I'd love to see more of this.
