Summary: Dean takes Cas to the bar, and after a few drinks, Dean finds out angels don't get embarrassed easily. eighteenth fic in my schmoop_bingo.

Dean was taking Cas to a bar, so Sam and Gabriel could have some time alone and Cas and him didn’t have to listen to what ever they were going to be doing; Gabriel had that predatory lust look in his eyes and Dean knew it was scram or be scarred for life. He knew Cas didn’t like stripper bars, so he was taking him to a normal bar, a quiet small pub.

After a few turns, the only quiet bar here was a gay bar, it didn’t bother Dean that much; he was with Cas so no one would bother them. He walked in, arm around Cas waist as the angel chatted away about his old life, before he came to earth. Dean had wanted to learn a little bit more about Cas’ Heaven life, since he seemed to have chosen him over it.

Cas stopped talking about it once they stepped into the bar and Dean ordered them both a beer. Cas stared at it like it was going to eat him, most likely remembering the hang over he had received after drinking a liquor store, but Dean urged him on. Cas reluctantly agreed, but after the first sip seemed to relax; beer wouldn’t get you drunk as fast as most alcohol.

You’d think that, after a few drinks, Dean would be the one doing crazy stupid things it’s in his nature. So when they announced Karaoke night and Cas walked up, lets just say Dean was shocked. He knew for a fact Cas didn’t even have a buzz, he was doing this with full mind intact; apparently singing in front of people didn’t embarrass angels.

Dean watch Cas flip through the songs before picking one out. He grabbed the microphone and turned to stare at Dean.

There was a short instrumental, and Dean picked the song out right away. It was ‘Heaven can Wait’ by Meat Loaf. Then, when Cas started singing, Deans jaw almost hit the floor because his voice, his voice was beautiful and seemed to wrap around the room.

“Heaven can wait, and a band of angels wrapped up in my heart, will take me through the lonely night. Through the cold of the day, and I know, I know, heaven can wait. And all the gods come down here just to sing for me, and the melody's gonna make me fly, without pain, without fear.” His eyes were locked on Dean’s, never wavering.

Deans mouth felt dry as he listened to his angel sing so beautifully, and it was all for him, everything. He could feel the love and respect and awe Cas felt for him through his words; it threatened to spill tears down his cheeks.

“Give me all of your dreams, and let me go alone on your way. Give me all of your prayers to sing, and I'll turn the night into the skylight of day. I got a taste of paradise. I'm never gonna let it slip away. I got a taste of paradise. It's all I really need to make me stay, just like a child again.” Cas stepped off the stage, since the microphone was cordless, and walked over to Dean, a smile on his lips.

Dean smiled back and let Cas sit on his lap, though a little embarrassed as all eyes in the room were on them.

“Heaven can wait. And all I've got is time until the end of time. I won't look back. I won't look back. Let the altars shine.”

Dean wrapped his arms around Cas neck, closing his eyes and just listening to the son g, and the power that seeped out of every words.

“And I know that I've been released, but I don't know to where. And nobody's gonna tell me now, and I don't really care. No, no, no. I got a taste of paradise. That's all I really need to make me stay. I got a taste of paradise. If I had it any sooner you know, you know I never would have run away from my home.”

Dean could feel the tears now, but he didn’t let them fall, because Dean didn’t cry over song; but it was just such an overwhelming feeling.

“Heaven can wait. And all I've got is time until the end of time. I won't look back. I won't look back. Let the altars shine.”

Dean felt a single tear slip down his cheek and Cas wiped it away with his thumb.

“Heaven can wait. Heaven can wait. I won't look back. I won't look back. Let the altars shine. Let the altars shine.”

Dean buried his face in Cas’ chest as the ending instrumental faded off, tears spilling down his face; which he hid in Cas’ trench coat.

“I love you, Cas.”
