Dean and Sam had decided they deserved a break after all the fighting and troubles they’d gone through to end the apocalypse; their angels agreed.

That’s how they ended up at the beach; it had taken a lot of coaxing to get Cas into swimming trunks and out of his normal layers –Dean had been creative. Gabriel had been easier –he had suggested the place, and Sam didn’t mind it; they were actually going to have a fun day. They were all excited –Dean and Gabriel even agreed to be civil.

That’s how the ended up, huge umbrella, beach blanket, beer and sandwiches. Sam was lying on his stomach with Gabriel draped over him like a blanket. Apparently he was saving Sam’s skin from evil sunray’s, but Sam knew that was a lie; Gabriel was very touchy feely sometimes and hated to admit it. While Dean and Cas lay side by side, Dean’s arm draped of Cas’ back.

It was perfect, the four of them hanging out and relaxing. Dean was sipping a beer while Gabriel talked about one of the many tricks – though Sam was pretty sure he’d toned down the truth, he’d played on dicks. Dean had actually found this amusing, and was constantly choking on his beer or snorting it out his nose.

Sam actually found the latter to be very funny.

After a few beers, some traumatizing stories about Michael and Lucifer’s sex life, some sandwiches and laughter, they were on their way towards the water. Dean had opted to be the child of the group and raced them towards the water; Cas had got last place, only because Sam had long legs and Gabriel had cheated.

Sam felt the chill of the water send goosebumps up his back, chest and arms, but quickly adjusted as Gabriel pulled him under. He broke the surface only to be met with a trickstery smirk, which he splashed off the archangel’s face. Sam turned to see Cas and Dean attached at the lips, Cas legs wrapped around Dean’s waist as the spun; Dean acted more romantic around Cas.

“You know, your brother had been a very good influence on mine.” Sam smiled ad Gabriel swam close.

“Yes, as yours had been a bad one on mine.”

“Nice to see them both happy though.”

Gabriel nodded before grinned.

“I say we have some nice, healthy couple vs. couple competition!”

Of course Gabriel would call that healthy.

“What do you have in mind.” Dean raised an eyebrow, obviously taken with the idea. Sam and Cas traded a this will not end well glance before Gabriel grinned and clasped his hands together.

“There is a game I see many humans playing. One person gets on top of one persons shoulder while another person gets on another persons shoulder and you attempt to knock the other guy off.”

“Okay Cas, you’re getting on my shoulders.” Dean grinned and Cas tilted his head but before he could answer Dean was under the water and lifting Cas up, who made a very un-angelic sound.

“Sam, you’re on mine.”

“Gabriel, I’m like, a foot taller then you, you can’t put me on you’re shoulders.”

The archangel raised an eyebrow.

“I’m also an angel, so that cancels your tallness out.”

Sam was about to retort, but he must have taken a page out of Dean’s book before neck thing he knew he was being lifted out of the water. They were steady for a bit, but physics beat Magick to a pulp and Sam was falling backwards due to imbalance. He hit the water, laughing and was pretty sure if Gabriel was human he would have half drowned the poor angel.

“I told you so.” He grinned as he pulled Gabriel into him, placing a kiss on his lips.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, bend over.”
