"Was I just jealous, bitter and cold? The sins i committed, the lies that I told. Had no respect for you, Only myself. A memeory I'm not so fond of as well, and I can honestly say I was wrong; so can you forgive me so I can move on"

"So different, so different than you. So different than you are. I know it's sad but true. So different, I'm no different than you."

Sam streghed and curled into something soft. It was a little cold, and it was fluffy. He blinked, not sure if Gabriel could be considered soft and fluffy. He sat up and noticed a pillow where the archangel should have been. He looked around and noticed the room had also changed. He was not in one of the rundown hotels Dean and him were famous for staying in. It didn’t remind him of any of the million he’d been in before.

He heard the lock jingling and sat up as Dean and Cas walked in, chatting away.

“Dean?”

“You’re getting better at the whole, lying thing.” Dean grinned.

“Thank you.” Cas smiled a little at the praise.

“Dean!” Sam yelled

Dean yawned and flopped down on the bed, while Cas sat beside him. He moved his arms behind his head and started flipping through the channels.

What the hell…

“Tomorrow we can go talk to that girl, see what she’s heard about it.”

“You mean that little girl, the one who saw it?”

Dean nodded and grabbed Castiel by the jacket, yanking him down for a kiss. Sam choked on the air and his eyes bulged from their sockets as he watched his brother and his angel make out, heavily. This was full on tongue, Dean dominating the poor Angel, who didn’t seem to mind. Sam swallowed heavily and stared, feeling like a pervert but unable to avert his eyes.

What the hell was going on, why can’t they see me? Why isn’t Dean lookingfor me? Is this another trick, where’s Gabriel…

“Hmm, you’re frisky today Cas, I like it.”

“I’m glad you’re cheered up Dean, I like seeing you happy.

“Well Cas, you make me happy.”

Sam finally looked away as clothes started being stripped and headed for the door, opening and closing it. Dean hadn’t noticed or wasn’t paying attention, either way he could hear the beginning of hot heated passion from inside and decided he wanted nothing to do with it. Sam rubbed the back of his neck and looked around; why couldn’t Dean see him?

Sam looked around the outside of the hotel, an d recognized the place as Flint, Michigan; maybe they were trying to find him. Sam leaned against the wall to the hotel room, and waiting for the noises to end, trying to block them out as he watched the sun slowly set in the distance. It was actually quite pretty, the way the blue turning darker, slowly painting in pinks, yellows, oranges and red, mixing with the few clouds that lingered.

Once he was sure that the room was quiet, he slipped back in, only to see his brother-covered by blankets thankfully-asleep, curled up to Castiel who was running his fingers through his hair. Sam sat down on the opposite bed and watched them, feeling a pang of hurt tug at his chest; was he being replaced? Sam pushed that thought side and turned his attention to the computers sitting on the table.

His was missing, replaced by one he assumed to be Castiel’s.

Sam swallowed a lump that formed in his throat and tried to relax the clenching in his gut. He ran a hand over it, and also noticed none of his things were here either; just Castiel’s and Deans. Sam felt his stomach bottom out as he walked out to the car, to see all his things gone; he was being replaced. Dean wasn’t looking for him, no one was; they were glade he was gone. Sam grabbed at his chest as a burning pain filled the emptiness that was forming.

They didn’t want him, no one did.

Sam stumbled out of the parking lot and towards Gabriel’s place. Maybe this is what the trickster was trying to teach him, that even if he did say yes, even if he didn’t. It didn’t matter, no one would care, and maybe he was just being a burden to Dean. He had chose a demon over him, and that must have stung Dean deep. Maybe he’d be glad if Sam just disappeared; no little brother’s fuck ups to worry about anymore.

Just hot sex with his angel.

He reached Gabriel’s apartment, only to find it empty, with no sign of the archangel ever being there. Sam slumped down where the bed used to be and pulled his knees into his chest, covering his head as he felt hot tears sting his eyes and wet his cheeks. He should have seen this coming, and maybe it was for the best, maybe he didn’t deserve the help.

Maybe it was just hopeless.

Wow, do I really sound that emo?

He blinked and stared down at his hands, which were tear stained; he was being…selfish. He was willing to give up on Dean, and everyone so quickly. This, this wasn’t real; none of it was. Sam stared at the empty bedroom and closed his eyes. Gabriel, said there was a lessen; he was trying to make Sam say yes. But, if he was trying to make Sam say yes, why did he have sex with him.

None of it made sense.

Maybe Gabriel had a thing for Lucifer.

Sam banished that though from his head and gagged, standing up. Maybe the real lesson was for Sam to see how easy it was for him to slip into depression. Sam was no good in a depression, he messed up, made mistakes; he was irrational. Maybe that was the true lesson. He wasn’t sure what the first one is, but he was sure that Gabriel was showing him loneliness so he could realise it could have been worse. Dean could have abandoned him.

He hadn’t, he’d fought and they’d made up, little bits at a time, but they were working on it.

Truth was, he didn’t know why Gabriel was doing this, but Sam wasn’t giving up. No, he’d beat Gabriel at his own game and stick through till the end.

Yes was not an option anymore.

The sound of Gabriel snapping caught his attention.
